AS THEY BURN
BIOGRAPHY
As They Burn established itself as one of the leading forces of the French metalcore scene from the late 2000s through 2015. Fueled by the release of the cult EP A New Area For Our Plagues, followed by the albums Aeon’s War and Will, Love, Life — the latter released through Victory Records, then regarded as one of the most influential independent labels in the world — the band toured relentlessly, performing hundreds of shows across France and Europe.
Over the years, As They Burn shared the stage with some of the biggest names in the international core scene, including Despised Icon, Job for a Cowboy, War from a Harlots Mouth, Betraying the Martyrs and Beneath the Massacre, while also leaving a lasting impression through standout appearances at major festivals such as the Hellfest, the Motocultor Festival and many other key events across France and abroad.
In 2022, As They Burn made an unexpected yet highly anticipated comeback, introducing a slight lineup change on guitars alongside the release of a brand-new EP, EGO DEATH. Praised by both French and international media, the comeback also marked the band’s return to the stage, reconnecting with longtime fans while simultaneously winning over a new generation. January 2024 marked a symbolic turning point in the band’s history with the final performance of longtime frontman Kévin Traoré. The farewell show, held at Le Trabendo in Paris, delivered an unforgettable and emotionally charged moment. Far from being an ending, however, the night became the starting point of a brand-new chapter.
As They Burn now returns full force to the stage throughout 2025 and 2026. Renowned for their explosive live performances and overwhelming raw energy, the now four-piece outfit enters a new era with the arrival of vocalist Zek Eladio. Driven by this renewed momentum, the Paris based band comes back stronger, heavier and more determined than ever.
